Michael Campbell’s go-ahead homer in the eighth inning of the opener ignited the Sydney Blue Sox, who carried that momentum into a strong offensive showing in the nightcap to sweep a doubleheader from the Brisbane Bandits on Saturday at Viticon Stadium.

The Brisbane Bandits (3-4) and Sydney Blue Sox (4-3) split the doubleheader and round 2 series overall with Brisbane winning game one, 5-2 and Sydney winning the second game 8-1 on Saturday afternoon at Blacktown International Sportspark.

Sydney erupted for 18 runs in the opener before Brisbane’s pitching responded with a combined five-hit shutout in game two, as the teams split Saturday’s doubleheader at Viticon Stadium.
